Alexandra Mayers LIVE: The Natural Movement – Black women STOP using chemical hair relaxers

Alexandra Mayers explains why Black women should stop using chemical hair relaxers, as they hurt you physically, psychologically and spiritually. In addition she includes a news clip which focuses on a scientific study that has determined that the chemicals in hair relaxers may lead to conditions which can affect fertility and leave women sterile (in other words, unable to have children).

At the end of this webcast, Alexandra includes a clip from Star Trek Voyager Season 6 episode 3 which focuses on finding pride and acceptance in your ancestry – along with loving yourself. The particular episode focuses on the character B’elanna Torres and her struggle to accept the fact that she is half Klingon.

If you are a Black woman who’s transitioning into wearing her hair natural – a great product to try is Pantene’s texturizing and sculpting wax. After you wash or rinse your hair, just rub a few dabs through your hair while it’s wet. The product really defines your coils quite well. me october 2015
