Happy Black History Month! BMH2019 part 01 – Understanding lack of capability to understand.
Throughout this month I’ll be sharing my thoughts on being a Black African American woman, racism & will be profiling public figures today who I will be a part of the future’s Black History.

In this podcast I share how a part of understanding another at times is reaching the realization that they aren’t capable of completely understanding you. Such a situation doesn’t make the person incapable of understanding “bad” or “lesser”… In fact often their efforts to relate to you proves they are your true friend.

The photo on the left is from 2010, so it’s not QUITE from 10 years ago, but close enough…

In the photo on the left, I was 31. In the video on the right (which I recorded today) I’m 40 years old.

In the photo on the left, I’m wearing hair extensions, but it’s all my hair in the video on the right (obviously my hair is flat ironed – I gave up chemical hair relaxers in 2015).

I’ll often be seen wearing a suit (a blazer at the least) and carrying a briefcase in 2019


Just a few post Christmas 2018 thoughts and an explanation as to why I’ll be wearing a suit (a blazer at the least) and will be carrying a brief case indefinitely starting January of 2019.
